We are pleased to announce that Betfred is running a special UK Student Poker Championship package freeroll tournament where you can win your buy-in for this year’s tournament plus £120 travel and accommodation expenses.

THE UK STUDENT POKER CHAMPIONSHIP:

The UKSPC is the first-ever and most prestigious national student poker tournament.

It was founded in 2004 by the University of St Andrews Poker Society, and the inaugural Championship took place in April 2005, attracting the first-ever field of over 250 players in Europe.

Betfred have sponsored the UKSPC from the outset, offering a WSOP Main Event seat for the winner who also walks away with a portion of the prize pool generated by the £30 buy-in.

Unique to the UKSPC is the flat payout structure: unlike other top-heavy prize pools, 1st and 2nd place in the UKSPC pay the same prize, with the only difference being the WSOP package, the trophy, and the bragging rights of being the UK Student Poker Champion!

Having taken place in St Andrews for its first 3 years, the UKSPC moved to the Birmingham Broadway Casino in 2008

The UK Student Poker Championship 2009 will be held on the 1st to 3rd April 2009 at the Broadway Casino (Birmingham). Betfred have hired the entire Casino Cardroom this year so there can be side games and side tournaments on both Day 1a and Day 1b.

THE ONLINE SATELLITE QUALIFIER:

Date:
• Sunday March 8th @ 19:00 on Betfred Poker

Structure:
• 2500 Starting chips
• 12 minute blinds

Entry requirements:
• Players must email uksp@betfredpoker.com. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and email info@ukstudentpoker.com with proof of student identity (for example a .ac.uk address attached to player’s Betfred account / scan of a student card)
• Players must also have 200 points in their Betfred account to play in the event

Prize structure:
• The top 10 players will win prizes
• Winners will receive buy in to the tournament (£33) and £120 expenses paid directly into their Betfred Poker accounts

For players to sign up:
1) Players with existing Betfred accounts:
• Choose either the Training Tools Ladder or the UKSP VIP Club
• Email info@ukstudentpoker.com. You need JavaScript enabled to view it telling us which you’d like to join, your Betfred username and alias

2) Players without Betfred accounts:
• Choose either the Training Tools Ladder or the UKSP VIP Club
• Sign up via the appropriate banner in the top right of the UKSP site, then set up an account

• To avoid any confusion, it’s best to email info@ukstudentpoker.com. You need JavaScript enabled to view it once you’ve done this telling us your Betfred username and alias as well as which promotion you’d like to take part in

Please spread the word! Remember, if you refer-a-friend to the UKSP site you can make $50 bonus dollars per player, in addition to up to 4% of their rake!
